D-Day minus 8 for launch of Cardiff's latest nightclub, Destination Cardiff!
At Capital Properties we love the animated culture and night life of Cardiff which brings so many students to the city, so we are excited by a brand new addition to the Capital's energetic club scene: Destination Cardiff.
We are just over a week away from the launch of Cardiff's brand new nightclub, Destination Cardiff, aka DC, located on St Mary Street in the town centre. Excitement has been building ever since the launch of Maddison, an upmarket bar and restaurant which is the sister venue of Destination Cardiff. Maddison has already impressed with its stunning interior design and vibrant atmosphere, creating a fresh option for dining and night life in Cardiff. When we visited Maddison, we loved the feel and look of the bar, and our experience has left us with big expectations for the unveiling of DC.
What can I expect from Destination Cardiff?
Destination Cardiff is expected to make a big impact on the Cardiff clubbing scene as one of the biggest nightclubs in the city. The venue, previously the site of ‘Liquid/Life’, is situated on St Mary Street next to Walkabout, close to the lively bars of Mill Lane. Don’t be fooled by the small entrance that sits under the bright DC sign, as through the doorway you’ll find an underground, 1,500 person capacity club that sits over two floors with an added exclusive room for members and VIPs. DC has installed a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, including Cardiff’s first full-venue visual production technology system which will be used to project 3D mapping across the club. These top of the range technologies are sure to create a unique experience for Cardiff night-clubbers.
Currently, most big student music events in Cardiff take place in the student’s union or in smaller, more limited clubs, and DC could change this. Indeed, the underground super-club could well be the perfect solution to a much needed new cultural venue in Cardiff. DC will allow Cardiff to become an even bigger clubbing destination, attracting party-goers from surrounding cities specifically for the large scale events that will be held here.
When is the launch of DC?
Destination Cardiff launches on 14th March with ‘Smack’, a much loved student night that has been running in Cardiff since 2010. Smack has recently adopted the venue as its new home, and promises to bring big names and great music to the huge 1,500 capacity nightclub every Friday night. Smack’s diverse resident DJs will be providing a selection of the best RnB, Hip-Hop, Deep House, Garage, Disco, Club Classics, and much more to keep the party going into the early hours. The Smack team are experienced in bringing top notch student nights to Cardiff, attracting major music acts, running big competitions, and providing party-goers with many more surprises on the night.
