Get down to the Student Lock-In 2013
Whether you’re a Cardiff fresher, college student, sixth form student or a veteran university student, one of the best events on the student calendar is just around the corner.
On Tuesday 8th October 2013 the Cardiff Student Lock-In returns to the St David’s Shopping Centre. Filled with a range of offers and discounts as well as competitions and live entertainment, it promises to be one the best student gatherings this academic year.
What exactly is the Student Lock-In?
The Student Lock-In is an out of hours shopping experience event. The Lock-In guarantees students exclusive discounts on a range of products including clothing, electrical devices, food & drink and jewellery.
The full list of shops participating in the event hasn’t been revealed yet, but our moles tell us that some of the retailers that have already signed up include Swarovski, Peacocks, The Body Shop, River Island and La Senza.
The event was first held in the St. David’s Shopping Centre in 2010 and has since been replicated in over 20 venues across the UK. It is run by Total Students who are a successful and highly respected marketing company within the student market. The Lock-In is so well received and popular that it has led to the St David’s Shopping Centre winning numerous marketing awards, including the Purple Apple Award – the most coveted award in the UK for the shopping industry.
As if great deals and shopping isn’t enough, the Student Lock-In event will also feature a range of entertainment including surf simulators, climbing walls, famous meet and greets and on-site nightclubs and bars.
Getting involved with the 2013 Student Lock-In
If you’re interested in attending you’ll need to pre-register through the Student Lock-In website, receive the registration code and then show it on the night. As a student, you’ll also need to bring along some ID and some form of proof from your educational institution (for example your university acceptance letter). Parents are welcome, as are friends, however they will be unable to receive discounts without some form of student ID.
You can find out more information about the event on the Student Lock-In Facebook page.
