Cardiff is the place to be thanks to universities
Cardiff is the place to be thanks to universities.
A news article from Cardiff Online found that 930 more 16 to 24 year-olds a year move to Cardiff from England than leave every year.
With Cardiff as the only part of Wales where more 25 to 44 year-olds are leaving than arriving, something the report puts down to people moving back to England for work once their studies are finished, it seems clear that the universities are a key draw to the capital.
The city also saw the biggest increase in people moving from overseas, with a net inward migration of 12,350 people between 2005-06 and 2009-10, more than three times higher than net migration into Swansea.
